Our Early Pregnancy Scan provides reassurance during the first weeks of pregnancy and helps answer common early concerns. This scan is ideal if you would like confirmation of your pregnancy, clarity on dates, or peace of mind during early symptoms.
The scan is usually performed between 6 and 10 weeks of pregnancy.
What does the scan assess?
During your early pregnancy scan, we will:
- Confirm the presence of a pregnancy
- Confirm that the pregnancy is located within the uterus
- Check for a fetal heartbeat (where appropriate for gestational age)
- Assess early development
- Identify whether the pregnancy is single or multiple
At very early stages, some findings may be limited by gestation, and this will be explained clearly during your appointment.

An early pregnancy scan may be particularly helpful if:
- You would like early confirmation of pregnancy
- You are unsure of your dates
- You have experienced pain, bleeding, or previous pregnancy concerns
