Our Dating Scan accurately confirms how far along your pregnancy is and helps establish an estimated due date. This scan is typically performed between 7 and 12 weeks of pregnancy.
What does the scan assess?
During your dating scan, we will:
- Confirm an ongoing, viable pregnancy
- Measure your baby using Crown–Rump Length (CRL) to accurately estimate gestational age
- Calculate an estimated due date
- Detect a fetal heartbeat
- Confirm whether the pregnancy is single or multiple
- Accurate dating is important for planning future care and scheduling routine NHS scans.

- Two black-and-white printed images
- Free electronic photos and short video clips, securely sent to you via a download link
